Welcome to Namastaahge

I have finally finished my training for Panchakarma! Panchakarma is body work therapy related to Ayurveda.  I have been going to Kanyakumari College of Ayurveda in Milwaukee on various weekends for the past year, I can’t believe it’s finally over!  I have to do my internship soon, so that means I have to practice, practice, practice.    I am offering special rate of $30.00 (to cover expenses) while I practice on people.  The normal rate for each therapy is $75.00.  I will also be offering packages that will range in price.  This therapy is absolutely amazing!

Here is a description of  Ayurveda,  Panchakarma and the various body work therapies.  It is taken from the manual given to us at Kanyakumari:

Panchakarma is the ancient cleanse of Ayurveda.  the Ayurvedic system of healing is a h0listic approach, treating the individual with the whole being in mind; body, mind and spirit.  Panchakarma therapy is a gentle yet powerful Ayurvedic approach to rejuvenation and detoxification.  The cleanse begins at home under the guidance of a certified Panchakarma consultant.  Sue Niedzielskis in the area and is just finishing her consultation certification.  After a week of cleansing comes the blissful body treatments… that’s what I will be doing.  You can do one treatment or mix and match in a package.  You do not have to have a consultation or do a week cleanse to t o recieve any panchakarma body treatments.   It is important to understand  that Ayurveda does not treat statistics, averages or generalized groups of people.  Ayurveda treats individuals!

I will be going to the Song of the Morning Ashram for the summer.  I’ll be back to do massage or practice PK the weeks of July 12 – 16 and August 9 – 13.  If you want to see where I’ll be, check out the website at www.goldenlotus.org.  A truly amazing place.

THIS IS THE THERAPY I AM CURRENTLY PRACTICING:

ABHYANGA:  This word translates to loving hands.  It is a hot oil massage.   It is an excellent antidote for modern day stress.  It soothes the endocrine system while it nourishes the skin deeply.  The use of  herbalized oilhelps loosen and mobilize AMA  (toxins ) while the massage is designed to drain the toxins in to the body’s GI tract for elimination.

This therapy is effective for conditions such as heart disease, insomnia, mental disorders, exhaustion, migraines, weakness of the body joints, facial paralysis, blood disorders, eye diseases, baldness and premature graying, dandruff, psoriasis, scalp sores , and other inflamations of the head.
